Electronics Boxes

So you bought a new coffeemaker and you don’t know what to do with the box.  Well, to put it simply, get rid of the box.

It’s smart to hold on to all of the packaging and the receipt for any new purchases until you are sure you are keeping it.  As a matter of fact, the last time we bought a tv, the store told us to keep the box and all of its contents for 30 days in case of return.

However, after you are sure that your new purchase is here to stay, it is time to recycle the box.  Generally, there is no need to keep original boxes for tv’s, computers, smartphones or appliances. The only exceptions are if you regularly move and keeping the packaging will make it easier to move or if you are diligent about reselling your old electronics on Craigslist or ebay.  If so, the original packaging will help you garner a better price.

But my advice to you is to save the space and ditch the box.
