Master Closet Makeover

I'll admit that having a large master closet helps with organization. It's much easier to organize everything when there are tons of drawers, shelves, and rods to work with.  But even small closets can be organized if you follow the same principles.

1. Hang Like With Like

Place sleeveless shirts together, then short sleeve shirts, then long sleeve shirts together in sections. Hang dresses by length and color.  Hang pants by type.

2. Separate Items On Shelves

Use shelf dividers and shoe stackers to keep things from toppling over on deep and long shelves.  Fold jeans and sweaters to save hanging space if you have lots of shelves.

Separate Items In Drawers

Use drawer dividers in large drawers to easily find what you need, and don't overstuff your drawers.  Fold like with like. Make putting away laundry easier by using a simple folding method, and tossing things like pajamas and socks into drawers without folding.
