The Causes of Clutter: But I Paid Good Money For It…

Does anyone ever pay bad money for something?  I mean, it seems like we are all out there paying good money for things.  But there has to be some group of people paying bad money for things…

Onto the last top cause of clutter. People often tell me that since they spent money on something, they should keep it.  But the fact is, more often than not, keeping the item is costing them more money in the long run.

For one, it takes up space in the house (or storage unit) that could be used for something else that you actually need.  Think of it this way, you are paying for the square footage of your home.  If there is too much stuff in your home, you are wasting that square footage, which, in turn, is wasting money.

For another, when you have too much in one space, it is harder to know what it is there.  That leads to buying duplicates of things.  If you have so many pairs of jeans tucked into your closet that you can’t even find some pairs, chances are you will head to the store to buy more.  Which is wasting money.

Also, like I have said before, if you do not love it or need it or use it, then it is causing more of a problem in your life just to have it.  Stressing over an unorganized house and spending hours looking for lost items is wasting your precious time, which is wasting money.

Good money. Not that bad kind.
